PlayStation Plus - September Update

Its finally happened! It was always going to at some point, I suppose. Next week sees September's offerings added into the Instant Game Collection and I already own most of them. Bad times! However it is yet another amazing month for Plus subscribers filled with blockbuster games. Starting with a title that was already revealed during this weeks Gamescom conference.

Assassin's Creed III

Last years entry into the historical stabbing simulator joins the IGC, just in time to get people ready for Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. Where Connor is not as an enjoyable protagonist as fan favourite as Ezio Auditore De Firenze, AC III is an enjoyable romp in Frontier America, but not as good as previous adventures. Although the naval missions are incredible.

Jak and Daxter HD Collection

Before Joel & Ellie, before Nathan, but after Crash. There was Jak and Daxter, Naughty Dog's PS2 era platform - open world shooter trilogy. Now all three games are bundled up in one awesome HD collection, with new HD graphics and trophy support. The best thing about this game being added to the Instant Game Collection, is that it is a cross-buy title and you should be able to download the Vita version at no extra cost. I am still currently playing the first Jak game on the Vita and it is great to go back and see the evolution of Naughty Dog's cinematic take on gaming evolve from Crash Bandicoot to Jak and Daxter to the epic The Last of Us.

Stealth Inc: A Clone in the Dark

Another PS3 addition that is also a cross-buy title. Stealth Inc and came to PSN in the last month and is a cracking stealth puzzle game. You play as one of many clones sent to tackle their way through a test facility filled with dastardly traps. It keeps you coming back time after time to see if you can get the elusive S rank on all the levels to unlock new gadgets and suits.
Stealth Inc is a brilliantly addictive game that is immensely playable on both PS3 and Vita.

So with the PlayStation 3 offerings done for this month and the disappointment that I digitally own most of them. Lets move on to the Vita's two games for the month of September and a cause for immense joy for all Vita owners.

Urban Trial Freestyle

First up is Trials HD erm Urban Trial Freestyle. There is no denying what this game is. It is a copy of another popular motorcross game that is available on another platform. Urban Trial is good fun and whilst not as good as Trials Evolution, it does a good job of bringing that style of game to the Vita.

New Little King's Story

Now this is going to make alot of Vita owners very happy. There have been many request for this to join to the Vita's Instant Game Collection. Help the King rescue the princess and save his kingdom in this Real Time Strategy game. The game plays very much like Pikmin, with the King recruiting citizens to help fight the monsters that have taken control of his kingdom. I have been waiting a long time to get my hands on this and it is a welcome edition to PS Plus and my personal highlight of the month.

Also it is worth pointing out that this month sees Sony start a new promotion for PS Plus where if you subscribe for one year, Sony will give you an extra 90 days for free. So now is a great time to subscribe and reap the benefits of this incredible service.
