Hotline Miami - Coming to PlayStation this week
This week sees Indie hit Hotline Miami, released on both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. More importantly it comes out on the Vita. Hotline Miami is perfect for the Vita and is yet another instant must buy for the handheld. Once again, its is a cross buy title, so buy it once and get it on both PS3 and Vita.
If you have been living under a rock the last few years, you may not of heard of this game. Hopefully though you may of heard of the film Drive, starring Ryan Gosling. Drive feature a nameless getaway driver, who after a job goes wrong exacts a brutal and bloody war on the men who orchestrated the job in order to save his neighbour and her young son. The film is outstanding and two things that stand out the most in it is the ultra violence towards the films climax (its the film with that elevator scene) and its hypnotic eighties electro score.
Two developers, Jonatan Söderström and Dennis Wedin saw Drive and took the next logical step. What if it was a video game, and so Hotline Miami was born. The game is a top down affair where the objective of each level is to kill all of the enemies in the level. The only snag is you are just as vulnerable as your prey, so one wrong move is fatal. The soundtrack is amazing, graphical style is pure eighties and the gameplay is so addictive you will be playing this into the early hours every day.
If you do one thing this week, buy Hotline Miami (£7.29 / €8.99 / $9.99). I fyou do two things this week, watch Drive and then buy Hotline Miami. You wont regret it!
